Mississippi singer/songwriter Dylan Wade McKay first came to everyone's attention during the Mississippi Flag fight to retain the current flag design. After pouring his heart into lyrics, he entered into the studio, laying down guitar and lead vocal tracks. Joining him in the studio were Buddy Church (formerly with Southern Rock legends Black Oak Arkanas) on guitar and bass, along with country music's Danny Joe Bryant on backing vocals. The result was this heartfelt tune "You'll Never Take the Rebel Out of Me." Donating the single and all profits from it, to help fund the main force behind the flag fight - FreeMississippi.org (now FreeSouth.org), he became an official FreeMississippi.org artist.

Dylan Wade McKay's most recent recording is the "Unplugged" CD, which contains a couple of his "classics" that most have only heard in a live setting, along with a couple new ones that are sure to become favorites just as much. One of the excellent new songs penned and recorded here, entitled "100 Southern Angels" is dedicated to the several students in Beaufort, South Carolina, that were suspended for wearing Dixie Outfitters t-shirts containing a "Dixie Chicks" design, with a small Confederate Battle Flag (click here to read full story). Another moving new tune, is "She'll Fly Again" written in dedication to the Georgia flag fight. A must have release, that is sure to please the proud southern community.
