Heather and Raquelle Sheen are sisters living in beautiful South Carolina, and together make up the harp duo of Joyful Harps. Both ladies were homeschooled all of their lives, and are currently taking college classes part-time on the internet. Heather is interested in Political Science/Economics, and Raquelle is interested in education.

The young ladies of Joyful Harps also write for the homeschooling column in a local newspaper, as well as serving on the church library committee; they give music lessons, and work as part-time office staff at their father's consulting business. All of that, and they also arrange music, perform and record these CDs as part of this amazing musical unit, Joyful Harps.

Joyful Harps has been featured in several publications, has appeared on local television, and has performed all around the country.

Their family has always enjoyed music, but took a very laid back approach to teaching them music when they were young. They were encouraged to experiment on their piano, and sound out tunes. With some oversight from their parents, they basically taught themselves to play and read music.

By the time they took formal lessons in their early teens, they were already arranging their own music, transposing tunes into other keys, and playing simple duets. They took about a year of piano lessons, with a few months of voice and organ lessons. Approximately a year later they became the pianist and organist at their church, posititions which they held for five years.

In addition to piano and organ, Heather plays the guitar, and Raquelle plays the violin. And of course, they both play harp. They both teach music, with Raquelle teaching piano and Heather teaching harp. Joyful Harps lets them share with the rest of us just how beautiful the harp can be.
