15th Annual Confederate Heritage Conference
May 2005
This years conference was started with a bang by
speaker and author Dr. Thomas Woods, Jr. Having just recently released
his new book "The
Politically Incorrect Guide to American History," he spoke
on how that book has made him a target for the liberal media, in
his lecture entitles "How I Became Public Enemy #1 for Telling
the Truth." His second lecture of the day was entitled "The
State's Rights Tradition Nobody Knows," where he brought to light
many aspect of history that are rarely discussed these days. Two
very enlightening and entertaining lectures.
Pastor Mark Duncan was next to take the podium, giving us a two part lectures series entitled "Surely God is On Our Side" examining the views of those on both sides of the war and how they both believed they were honoring God in their endevour. Yet another two enlightening lectures.
The last of the lectures of the day was by the ever
graceful host Rev. Steve Wilkins, speaking on "Flannery O'Connor
and the Subversion of Modernity." As always, and enlightening speech
which ended this conference lecture set with a bang.
This lecture series was ended with a short questions
and answers session with all three speakers, plus the addition of
the ever delightful John Eidsmoe. All in all, another most excellent
conference year. If you missed it, be sure to grab the audio recordings
